Hi, a couple different playback issues I’m having on my Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max device.
The first is my Back to the Future I & II 4K DV rips. When I click play the DV flag pops up on my TV but then all I get is a black screen. I was told the reason was because they have DV & HDR10+ in the same video stream. Is this a hardware or Plex issue? Any chance we can get that fixed? Haven’t had these in any other movie rips so far, but I’m sure others are out there.
The second is a .mp4 file I cut and encoded myself when I start to play it. At the start the speed starts all fast and then corrects itself a couple seconds or so later. On my Amazon Fire TV 4K Stick (2018) & SHIELD TV Pro (2019) it does it a little, but not as much on my Max stick. Both my ATV4K’s (2019, 2017) don’t do it.
Hopefully these 2 issues can be addressed. No idea what to do here.
Someone on the AVS Forum board answered that it was a bug with the Fire TV 4K Max’s stick hardware with files that have both HDR10+ & DV files on the same Video encode. Never got a fix for it yet.
I also noticed recently on my Tremors 4K version it only plays in HDR, while both my Apple TV 4K’s (2021, 2017) and SHIELD TV Pro all play it in DV. Not sure what’s up with that either.
My Back to the Future I & II 4K DV rips I get a black screen on. I just tested it again and it only plays in HDR, not DV there too. Also curious why Tremors only plays in HDR and not DV. But at least it plays.
