Amazon Firestick playback and display problems since latest update

I just updated to the newest software version (8.7.3.21018) on Firestick a few days ago. Since then, I have noticed several problems. Most days it takes several attempts to connect to my server which NEVER happened prior to the update,
Also, when watching a TV series and I get to the end of the season, it just stops and doesn’t start the next episode. It used to go to the next episode of the next season but not now.
It also displays little tiny thumbnails of the episodes instead of a larger one. It used to clearly show the large thumbnail and the episode name and number but now it’s too small.

Then biggest issue is of course the playback of continuing to the next episode at the end of a season.

I am finding on my Mum’s Firestick so many things WONT play with Unknown Error or Cannot Play this Media type things, yet they play perfectly on my Android phone… Is there a major difference in versions or maybe its cos Firestick is based on an old Android version?

I have the same issues, with the addition that most of the time the episodes played are not being marked as played. Automatic play of the next episode rarely works as well. Did anyone try using this new update before publishing it?

How do I roll back to the previous version?

I updated and had the same issues. I had to delete the app and sideload and older version in order to get functionality back.

Where did you get the previous version? I’ve been trying to find someplace to grab the previous version but haven’t had any luck.

I currently have 8.5.2.20133 running on my Fire Stick, and I haven’t have any issues.
