Media won’t play on Amazon Firestick

I’ve just completely reinstalled and reconfigured my Plex server, connecting to My Cloud Home. Everything was playing fine until I did this.

Now, NONE of my files (MKV & MP4) won’t play on my Firestick app. Keep getting same error message (attached).

Firestick is connected on same network as my laptop and mobile, and files play fine through Plex app on them. I’ve uninstalled the Firestick app, reinstalled it… nothing works!

Please, give me some idea of what to do. It’s purely a playback issue on Firestick alone as everything else syncing and playing correctly.

I have just had the same issue start happening on my two Firesticks.
All was fine before and now suddenly this. (Same Error)

I get the exact same error since yesterdag, but I am using the new Chromecast with Google TV.
Casting the same videofiles from my phone to the cromecast works fine

I have the exact same issue - Amazon fire TV (2nd gen) & Synology DS218+

Movies play fine on iPhone or laptop and the Firestick can see my library, just not play it.

Thank god for the Euro’s on TV or I’d be even more f****d off!

PMS 1.23.3.4707 just now and it fixed it for me.

I really should have thought of trying that before! But now I have, unfortunately it hasn’t fixed the error. I’ve updated it on the fire too :weary:

Same problem here on Firestick “check connection”
And on other Firestick 4k it says “server not powerful enough to play media” Odd because it was just fine playing it a week or so ago!!

Bloomin Plex updates breaking things! This happened last year and wasn’t fixed fir months!!

The problem is the impossibility to set the old player… the last version is the 8.11 Without this option, and obbligatory use the new version of player, the media don’t run… For the moment, is use de 6.0 for android phone and the 8.11 for the firestick

firetv stick 4k and plex app 8.19.1.23606 and server 1.23.4.4712 (Win10), “no problems” playing media (besides the neverending story of not continueing playing epiodes etc).

Use version 8.11… work great!
But use the old player to play the medi

Any workable solutions on this yet? Just this week my Plex stopped working on all my Fire Sticks. Someone mentioned 8.11. I sideloaded this onto one of my Fire TV devices with no luck. I have no issues streaming to other devices, like my laptop. This issue looks like it has been going on for months. I’d love to see some permanent fixes to this issue.

In plex on firestick, go to settings, then scroll down towards the bottom, 2nd from bottom actually, ADVANCED…go to allow insecure connections on same network, that fixed it for me. I have not had plex working for at least a month and every TV I have has a freaking firestick and they all went down. This fixed me.
