nop am in GMT +3 plus i tried restarting the pms and i also reset my cloud home also reinstalled plex on it same error the only thing that seems to work is to disable secure connections
Note: This is specific to Android / Android TV clients. Your log files list only Plex Web using Chrome.
If you cannot update the version of Plex Media Server:
- Disable Plex Media Server secure connections (Settings → Network → Secure Connections = Disabled)
- Disable Android / Android TV client secure connections (Settings → Advanced → Allow Insecure Connections = Never)
If necessary:
- Restart server
- After server restarts, restart client
Note: For Plex Web, you will need to access your server using the local IP address, http://pms_ip_address:32400/web. Also, Plex Relay will no longer be available.
See Connection Error when playing films on android tv app - #3 by FordGuy61 for additional information.
I too have been having this issue. Some specific points to my setup:
-official plex docker on unraid
-custom domain to access plex
I was able to fix this by modifying the script made for synology here for unraid to create a p12 certificate from the certificates created by the swag container. So if you’re having this issue and also accessing plex through your custom domain, set a p12 certificate up in the server network settings.
Where do you disable this.thanks
Scroll up two posts.
Thanks is this on my fire cube in plex
Change it on both your Plex server settings and in the Plex app on the Cube.
How can I disable secure connections ni WD MYCloud Home? Disabling on Android tv firestick Plex App doesn’t work
Any news? It’s 2 months without the possibility to play my videos from WD My Cloud on PLEX Android TV (Firestick), neither in Android phone
Where to disable in Firestick “Disable Android / Android TV client secure connections (Settings → Advanced → Allow Insecure Connections = Never)” ??
I don’t find such option. I’ve disabled that in Plex App on my Android Firestick Tv, restarted several times, etc…but it doesn’t make difference.
IMPORTANT!!! The issue “An error occurred while attempting to play this video check the connection and try” not only occurs when trying to play any of the movies located in the WD My Home, ALSO IN MOVIE TRAILERS that are automaticly displayed by PLEX APP. So it’s deffinetiveley a PLEX ERROR. Trailers are not depending on WD MY HOME, only depend on internet connection
PD: I have a fantastic broadband connection, Netflix and Amazon Prime are working excelent. That Error only occurs with PLEX APP

That is in the server settings, not the app.
You have to disable secure communications in two places: 1) Plex Media Server settings, and 2) Plex Android TV app settings (app = client).
Yes, ok. But in WD My Cloud App there isn’t such option to do that. Can anyboday help to find it?

Use the 8.11 version on firestick… and the 6.12 for android phone (this version bypass the 1 minute limitation)
I didn’t change anything in the WD MC settings (as you say, there is nothing to change), only in the PMS web app under network settings.
This setup solves my problem, many thanks FordGuy
