Hello,
from February 15th, that is, from the plex player 6.13.7 version, many .mp4 1080p 3,2mbps files with aac 5.1 audio are blocked and the message “Your connection to the server is not fast enough to stream this video”.
It does it both remotely and locally (gigalan) it does so either with my nvidia shield or with amazon fire stick (since the last update).
Please update the plex player. it is so unusable !.
This situation started on one of my Fire TV boxes today. The client jumped to 6.13. Direct play stopped working on some videos and I had to drop the speed on the local connection to make it play transcoded.
My other Fire TV running client 6.12 is running the same video direct play with no issues.
Something has changed in the latest client for Fire TV.
I usually get this error but just wait it out for a few seconds and the show starts playing like normal through direct play and the occasional transcode fallback. But yeah, Plex has been weird these past few updates.
On a Kindle fire 8, Experienced the same problem starting on 2/22/2018 after an update to PLEX Client 6.13.7.3458. All videos previously streamed perfectly now most MP4’s can run no more than 5 seconds without getting this error.
Confirmed there is a ton of bandwidth.
Had to force the quality settings to 1.5 Mbps 480p to get it to work.
I confirm the problem on Plex client since update to 6.13.7.3458 (Freebox mini4K with android TV)
All previously Direct Streamed videos now issue th error message. All my media are unreadable
I also have a Xiamoi TMibox who didn’t upgrade and plays everything perfect with 6.12 !
Please Plex Devs, let us revert to 6.12 till you find the fix !
good morning I also attach in this post the logs of the latest version 6.14.1.
Thanks for the logs, are you sure your not using WiFi on your SHIELD? Does it only happen for this MP4 or all files you have? If you could share the MP4 or create a sample of it that would be great.

it happens to me with lots of mp4 1080p, I tried to get them with ac3, aac, stereo, 5.1, nothing changes.
This is done on all the platforms I have at home, nvidia shield and amazon stick.
the nvidia shield is connected in gigalan 1000mb, I have no problem to play mkv 4k h265 at 60mbps …
the problem is with these 1080p mp4 that have a paltry 3-4mbps bitrate.
if you want I can give you my ftp to download the file in question. in private please.
I have the same problem. I have an Bravia Android TV and what is strange is that the stream works just fine for around 35 - 40 minutes then i get the message “Your connection to the server is not fast enough to stream this video.” and the video freezes every few seconds, making the stream unwatchable.
unfortunately I have to announce that I also tried the 6.15 version released today.
Unfortunately, with regard to those videos that are stuck, no solution has been reported.
