been having issues with plex for the past 4 days
an error occurred while attempting to play this video check the connection and try again i have deleted the serve created a new one uninstalled the apps both on the android tv and fire tv but nothing i have i attached both

If your device rooted? That an sometimes cause issues with the app.

Are you sure? Your logs indicate the device is.

Am postive my fire tv, my mi box, my Samsung note 8 and my galaxy s10 are not rooted and they all show the same error

Did you disable Transcoding on the server ?
Settings > Transcoder

When i disable transcoding it says unable to play media

Don’t disable it. I only asked because I had this problem before and that was the solution leave it Uncheck

I see that you’re running 1.18.6.2350 on a WD. What model is that?

Am running plex server on my cloud home (western digital)

As I expected. Other users of My Cloud Home are facing the same problem, Plex Team is already aware of that.

Ok, I might have been looking at the wrong thing regarding the root so let’s ignore that for now. I do see the following error in your log for the mibox.

05-22 10:52:10.868 i: [FFmpeg] [ERROR] [tls @ 0xcc9c1500] Peer certificate failed verification

You have verbose logging enabled on your server so it’s hard to tell what’s going on. Can you turn that off, then restart PMS, let it run for about 3 minutes without doing anything, then try accessing from your MiBox again and then get me a new log from your server if you get the same error.

Same issue here… “An error occured while attempting to play the video. Please check your connection and try again”. Any solutions ?

That error is a generic one. There is no 1 solution. Please provide logs so we can look for the specific cause.

I disabled verbose logging and its still saying the same error I have uploaded the new logs

@papabearfelix1 Not you. Can you get me a new log after just restarting PMS? I’d like to check what PMS is doing at start up.

I’m getting the exact same error on my firetv cube and the friends I’m sharing with also have the same error all android devices yet my iPhone and iPad are working correctly

I have just started getting the same error. Fire TV and WD My Cloud.

I had this issue on my Qnap NAS last night. Manually upgrading to the latest version of the Plex Server seems to have fixed it.
