Nothing set for me in networks. I can’t watch any live TV at all without getting this error and then get it randomly on other videos I have. Its a Plex Android TV thing as it only occurs on my Shield and Philips Andorid TV but is fine on tvOS

Same error here. MiBox S for client (with latest android 9 update), Synology NAS for server.
Disabling the new player worked for me.

After updating to the most recent system update for Xiaomi Mi Box 4K I started getting this error.
Turning off new player in settings seems to have solved the issue. Spent an hour restarting, uninstalling and resetting. What a waste of time!

Hi, same error after upgrade andoid tv 9 on Xiaomi box s (4K) and last Plex app update… after disable new player, it’s woking again.

Same here, after my XIami MiBox S upgraded to Android 9 Plex stopped working untill i disabled the New player in Advanced settings.

I am getting same thing on my Shield. Was gettng betas every couple of days now nothing for 2 weeks. Also last beta worked with new player now new beta and every 7.31 beta prior to last dont work. What is up Plex support?

Same bug, after new mi box S and plex update, got error Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and this app, trying restart but no luck. If resuming video playback sometimes starting to play without ghosting, never use plex with mi box s. But now new player looks good, but not working correctly. old player very baaaad, ghosting faces… for now im using media player on TV, and waiting plex fix with new player.

Same here with the TV of a friend.
Since last Android Update on his Sony Bravia KD55XF8505.

Tries to play video. “An Error…” Message shows up.
Switch to “old player”. All is working again.

Same for me. Same error using Nvidia Shield Pro TV. Old player currently in use and working fine. Hope this will get sorted before the new player becomes the only player!

Yep, I’m throwing my 2c in here too. Two users both using Xiaomi MiBox S’ suffering this issue. Switching to the old player fixed it.

Yep, but hoping by adding to list of posters on this thread Plex will prioritize fixing the issue.

All of you be sure to check if you have an issue with DNS rebinding:

The new player checks for this and refuses to play if it can’t reach plex.direct
