An error occurred while post processing the recording with latest Plex Server Version

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171 on Windows 10 Pro running on an HP pavillon HPE with 16GB of memory and in Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz
Player Version#: 3.104.2

Since the last update to the server, 1.18.4.2171, all my DVR recordings all come back saying “An error occurred while postprocessing the recording. Is anyone else having this problem. Up until this last server update, everything was working find. Commercial removal stopped working on Jan 17th, 2020.

I attached some entries from the log files that look related to the problem. I could not find anything else in the log that seemed related to the problem.

Thoughts?

Seems to be the comskip exe is failing. The only known issue is a general one about the .grab subdirectories - where if you have the path for the media directories shared with other Plex Media Servers and it could get purged by the other Plex Media Server

But I do see a syntax error in the path

What version did this start happening with?

Could you update to the current version and attach the full logs zip after failed comskip

I have run a test and there is no issue with the path - so I do need to see the actual full log files. Could you update the server to the latest beta 1.18.5.2260-056ab4be9

When the error arises do the directories and files below the .grab directory exist at that time?

Do you share the D:\Plex Video\TV Shows with other server ? I do see you have 2 servers

If you do share that - then there is a current bug where the other server may purge the content below the .grab directory. Logs from both servers would show that

I really have not watched the directories during the whole record / commercial removal process, so I don’t know the answer. When the system is quiet, e.g., nothing is recording, there is nothing in the .grab directory.

What version did this start happening with?

This started on the 17th when I installed version 1.18.4.2171. See attached screenshots:

Please attach the latest logs.

I did include the install logs just to see if maybe the upgrade to 1.18.4.2171 had some issues. See attached.Logs.zip (27.6 MB)

Could you update the server to the latest beta 1.18.5.2260-056ab4be9?

I will give that a go tomorrow.

I updated to 1.18.5.2260 and comskip seems to be working again. Weird.

The known issue I mentioned before here is now fixed

Plex Media Server 1.18.6.2348 is now out as beta

It has fixes for the deletions of DVR recordings .grab directories by other servers sharing same media paths in libraries.

(DVR) Fix for in-progress recordings being deleted by another server that records to the same directory. (‪#10929‬)
