An official Issue Tracker

So I switched from using a plethora of apps for different purposes to Plex for the “one to rule them all” kind of setup. I’m mostly happy about it, although I stumble upon bugs every now and then. Actually bugs that happen a bit too often and a bit too severe to be in a video playing application. So, as a developer myself I figured I’d do my part (even though I’m a paying customer) and report the bugs. All said and done, I collected logs and went on to report it in… and that is where my story ends. :frowning:

I cannot for the life of me understand why there isn’t an open issue tracker. Instead paying users need to post in a forum and get drowned out by everything else. It is almost as if it is deliberately designed to be hard and cumbersome to help improve the development. What is the reasoning for not having a structured and easy way to report bugs? I can only think of benefits to the development team and to the product users.

Please, please please Plex Team: do setup an official bug/issue tracker so we can report and help develop this software to it’s best potential.

Benefits with an issue tracker speak for themselves:

  • Once central place for bugs, discussions about bugs etc.
  • Easier to follow development
  • Easier to prioritise the issues
  • Easier to find already existing bugs
  • Faster development
  • Better follow up on bug fixes

Just to name a few. I mean, take a few weeks of regular development and implement this instead. The time spent will be recovered within the first 6 months. And customers will be so much more happy.
