Android app crashes on cast

Since last week I’ve been having issues casting to my Chromecast. Before last week everything worked fine then one day it didn’t. No idea what changed as everything is set to auto update, both app and PC. Now when I open a video file on my phone it plays fine but as soon as I try to cast, the Plex grey ready screen appears on my TV but nothing loads and my phone app crashes, whrere no inputs work and after 30s or so it times out. However, if I cast music first, it works and I can then swap to a video file and it works fine. I’ve deleted the app, reinstalled, cleared cache etc but it’s still doing it. Any ideas gratefully received.

I posted the exact same issue today. Issue started earlier this week right after I purchased my Plex Pass.

Having exactly same issue, Will cast as long a movie is not playing first. IE open movie - Cast - then play.

i also have the issue. been like this for 3 versions now. Start playing on my Pixel 4XL, press cast to any cast device. The plex screen appears on the cast device, but the media keeps playing on the Pixel and the device becomes unresponsive. I have to force quit the app to do anything on the phone again.

Having exact same issue here - on a TCL Plex and Samsung Tablet. Both happened same time (app update). Can cast same media fine from Chrome on laptop
