Casting or Even Using In App on Android is BROKEN

Ongoing issue for months and months, I doubt anyone from Plex staff is even reading this anymore, but here goes my wasted breath.

I have used many different Android devices, all showing the same issues. OFTEN when playing videos I get the dreaded ERROR - An error occured while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again. Let me stress that these videos play 100% of the time on Windows, macOS or any other device using the web ui. So it is NOT an issue with the plex server, the videos, hardware, or anything else server side. This ONLY happens on the Android apps. I can usually resolve the issue ONCE by clearing data and cache, and logging back in… And if trying to cast, I often have to reboot the chromecast device as well. Yes I’ve cleared cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, everything you can think of. Please for the love of god Android Plex devs, step in here and help!

Here are the logs from my phone running the log server please note the Demuxer failures like

The log you posted earlier did show the demuxer failing. However, this was due to the app not being able to connect securely to your server. It was using the wrong address. Did you add some custom URLs to your PMS settings?

I had your published IPs reset on your account, so if you didn’t add those URL’s yourself, this may just be fixed for you now. If you are adding those URL’s, stop doing that. :smiley:
