Android App Not Showing Music Library (Web Access Works Fine)

Hi all,

I’ve been having a weird recurring issue with the Plex Android app where my Music library just doesn’t appear, even though it shows up perfectly on:

Plex Web on my computer

My phone browser via http://192.168.1.13:32400/web

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

:white_check_mark: What works:

The Music library exists and works on a desktop

It’s accessible via the local web URL on my phone

Server is set to “Fully Accessible” in Settings > Remote Access

Running the latest Plex Media Server (just updated manually)

No restrictions in user permissions, and the library is marked as “include on home screen”

:cross_mark: What I’ve already tried:

Reinstalling the Android app (temporarily worked, then failed again)

Clearing app cache and data

Signing in/out

Creating a new Music library — that one also didn’t appear

Testing both on Wi-Fi and mobile data

Tried to manually connect via IP, but the new app version doesn’t show that option anymore under Advanced Settings

Thanks,
Joseph.

Assuming you’re using the new experience app (version 2025.x)… Plex has started focusing music using their Plexamp app. Music libraries are no longer displayed in the “video” app.

Thanks for the clarification — that makes sense now! I’ve gone ahead and installed Plexamp and will give it a go tomorrow. Appreciate the help :+1:

Not totally sure why it had to be split into three apps though… but oh well :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

None of us understand why either.
