Android App sharing between Family devices

Server Version#: Version 1.27.2.5929
Player Version#: 9.5.0.33736

Hi
I’m trying to stream from my plex server to my child’s android device. I have purchased the app, not the plex pass, on my device, and want to share via a Family Link. I understand that ‘In App Purchases’ are not shared between google accounts, so I cannot use Family Link.
How do I then share the Plex App with my family without buying an individual client app for each family member?
Is this by design?
Since they are Child accounts I cannot add another account (my own account with the paid app). Google only allows addition of Education accounts if its a child account.
So… if I cannot use Google Family Link and I cannot add a secondary account, what options are there to share the app between family members?
Is it expected to have a single paid version per child device?
many thanks
Pete

The unlocking of the app is bound to the app store account.
So if you can add your primary Google account to the devices of your kids, you should be able to unlock their Plex apps. (using the “Restore Purchase” button)

Hey, thanks. unfortunately since the account is Family Linked, Google only lets you add another account if it is a School account.
So I suspect Plex intentionally made the app upgrade an ‘in app purchase’ so it could not be shared by Google Family Library and therefore forcing families to buy a seperate client for each mobile device used by the family. Or just get the plex pass.
It kinda sucks that we cannot share the app within a family.
but thanks for your reply
