Hello, good evening.
Need fresh ideas.
Everything was fine until a week ago or so.
Now my android phone (and my wife’s too) cannot see my server (hosted on a truenas).
Same device via browser works fine.
Also, TV Samsung app also works fine.
Tried many things
app reinstall
network verification (we are in the same range)
server roll back. Now updated again.
disabled/enabled IPv6 (related to another issue once…)
reset all customizations (saw many ppl with this issue)
Any tips appreciated.

Update: allow insecure connections in the app, made it work.
So my secure connection is broken somehow?
Update 2: is my ISP.
Telekom in Germany is forcing their DNS , you can’t change it unless set manually or if you have an extra router and use theirs as bridge only.
Changing IP on Android is not easy this days (private DNS), and this hasn’t worked.
This is also why remote Plex is broken (goes green for a bit and then red).
This is recent. It was working about 3 weeks ago. So Telekom changed it’s behavior with DNS/nat recently.
If your android pings plex.dirext locally, it’s this issue.

You didn’t mentioned if you set 32400 port forwarded to public network? This is absolutely necessary to make it work outside of your LAN.
That is fine on my router, and it was working for the first week. Now not anymore, tried different port, works for a bit but gets disconnected.
My guess is that Telekom is enforcing their DNS and blocking Plex, so people buy their Magenta package with Disney and Netflix subscriptions.
The work around now is getting my own router… Which I plan to do anyway…
You have fixed IP or variable? You may need to acquire some DDNS address to fix that.
Variable, but always worked with previous ISP/router.

FYI, I mannually changed the port to a very different number, and changed the NAT. It looks like is now working.
My best guess is that Telekom is blocking PLEX ports now. Like I said, it was wokring before. So if ppl dont have PLEX they have to subscrive to more stuff (which they sell).
