Server Version#:1.19.5.3112
Player Version#:8.4.2.19372
Edit update- I last tried rebooting/cache clearing/any sort of troubleshooting approximately 5 hrs ago, but just now my thumb accidentally hit the library button and it worked! whatever was stuck unstuck itself.
This morning my phone auto updated the Plex app to version 8.4.2.19372. When I tried to use it, I found that I could view my content on the recommended or collections or playlists tabs, but the library would not open. Attempting to click the ‘Library’ button in any of my libraries results in a brief flash of the screen and the app staying wherever I was before. If I can see content on any other tab, I can view the info and play it without issue. Everything is fine in the web browser. I updated the server to latest version- 1.19.5.3112- but after the update and restarts of both the server and the phone (cleared cache as well), no success.
This issue is back, and still only in the Android client. I’ve seen some posts hint that the library tab not loading could indicate a server DB corruption issue, but I’m skeptical of that given that while the issue is occurring on Android the web client is able to browse without issue.
Are there any troubleshooting steps that should be taken on the mobile device prior to uninstall/reinstall? I’ve got a ton of synced content on this device and would rather not have to redownload all that.
Hi- in between my last post and your reply, I found a post suggesting force expiring my authentication token by changing my password- at least initially that seems to have worked and I can’t currently reproduce the issue. If it turns out that that wasn’t a permanent fix I’ll follow those instructions to grab and upload the logs here the next time it occurs. Thanks for the reply!
I found how to replicate this every time. Disable the remember tab option under the experience settings and library fails to load. Enable the option and it works again.
Have you tried the workaround described earlier in this thread? I would hope that a permanent fix is eventually forthcoming, as having a checkbox that simply breaks everything seems less than ideal, but in the interim toggling that ‘remember’ setting seems to have worked for the rest of us who have commented. I suspect that if changing that setting hasn’t worked for you your log files might help the team further get to the bottom of the issue.
