I’m experiencing this behavior in Android clients. I downgraded my android client (mobile) and can now skip back/forward/seek. I downgraded to 8.2.1.18636. I haven’t tried a newer older version, so newer versions may work. The latest where the problem exists is 8.8.2 (I also tried updating to beta 8.9.0.21527)
I would be surprised if there isn’t already a thread on this behavior, but I wasn’t able to find it. If anyone has info on the best Android version to use where timeshift works, that would be appreciated.
I’ve had this same issue - using earlier client/player versions seeking always worked for me but now it seems particularly bad with content whose audio bitrate can’t be determined. Even in cases when the audio bitrate is shown, seeking sometimes fails in the same way but I haven’t been able to reliably reproduce this bug in that case.
I note that when chapters in a video are available, going to a chapter always works without issues, which makes me wonder why seeking doesn’t, since you’re just going to a particular time within the video in both cases.
