Video seek fails if the audio bitrate is undetermined

Server Version#: Mac 1.20.4.3517
Player Version#: 8.9
Android version: Android Pie build PI.20201021 release-keys
Video quality automatic adjustment: off
Home streaming: maximum
Enable new video player: on

To reproduce:

  1. Select a video whose audio bitrate does not appear in the “More info” area of the video (one can get there by selecting the “More” three dots icon on the main page of a video).
  2. Direct play the video
  3. While playing, either 1) hold down the remote’s right button to seek forward or 2) press the remote’s up button twice, then hold down the remote’s right button to seek forward
  4. This message appears: “Error - unable to play media”, and then one is kicked back into the page one initiated playing from

I have tested this with videos with multiple resolutions (SD to 4K), containers (MP4, MKV), video codecs (MPEG4, HEVC), audio codecs (MP3, AAC, AC3, TRUEHD), and audio channels (stereo, 5.1, 7.1). I can reproduce this for any file whose audio bitrate is not reported.

If the audio bitrate is not shown, that could mean the file wasn’t created properly. I would try remuxing the file then see if PMS can identify the bitrate.
