Android Auto / Bluetooth Volume/Audio Fidelity issues in car

First up, I truly adore the app, I love how I’ve been able to take control of my music again, great job on it.

I’ve just bought a car (Mazda Cx3 2021), I primarily use my Samsung s23 for listening to music through PlexAmp.

I’m finding that every track I play on PlexAmp through Android Auto/Bluetooth sounds quieter, washed out and less dynamic compared to the same track on Spotify, in fact I have to turn my volume right up to even hear my music from Plexamp.

I’m finding that volume normalisation does absolutely nothing to change the volume at all.

I’m having to boost my audio through the equaliser preamp gain, but that’s also distorting some of the audio occasionally.

I really don’t want to have to rely on Spotify.

PlexAmp sounds amazing through every other speaker or pair of headphones I’ve tried.

I’d really appreciate some help.

Disable loudness leveling (need to restart playback for it to take effect).

Try AAudio vs OpenSL output (setting in Plexamp).

Otherwise, it’s Spotify cheating with compression.

Dang, neither of these options get me close to the sound.

I know it’s likely Spotify treating with their compression techniques, but I guess in my crappy car speakers, the difference is night and day. It’s weird because the radio tends to even sound a bit fuller.

Thanks anyways.

You can also use the EQ.
