Hey all! First off Downloads on Android works pretty well for me - thanks to the team that replaced the old Sync tool with Downloads, I’ve been loving it!
I have been having one problem with the functionality though, which I don’t see much being discussed. I’ve found a bunch of similar threads that appear to have either been closed due to inactivity after no posts or several back and forths followed by being closed due to inactivity: https://forums.plex.tv/search?q=downloads%20specials
The quick summary of the problem is if you try to download the next X unwatched episodes of a given show and you have more than X specials for that show, the phone will only download specials even if all of them take place after where you’re currently at in the show. This is especially problematic with shows that have more than 20 specials as Downloads only lets you download up to 20 episodes of a given show.
The functionality to place specials in the right places is definitely implemented as the order is correct (as far as I’ve seen) when streaming, it just doesn’t seem to work for downloads making me think this is a bug not a feature request.
If this were open-source I’d happily take a stab at it (my background is nearly a decade in Android development) but as it’s not, the best I can do is beg for a fix. I’m happy to provide any debug logs that may be deemed helpful or any additional information if useful, just let me know. Similarly if a fix is in the works and I can help by beta/alpha testing just let me know!
