Let’s say I have a show with a season of 10 episodes. I’ve seen only the first episode. Episode 2 will show up in “Continue Watching” section on my home screen. First let me explain the behavior I see on the Windows client (because this shows it working correctly) and then explain how it is broken on the Android client.
On the Windows Plex client, I select Episode 2 of this series from “Continue Watching” and play it. When the episode is finished, I can click the Next button on the player interface and Episode 3 will start playing. I can click the playlist button on the player UI and see that all the remaining episodes for this season have been turned into an automatic playlist that the player uses. This facilitates the “Next” / “Previous” button behavior in the player interface.
On Android, I do not get this playlist. When I play Episode 2, the “Next” button is disabled. There is no playlist created. To play Episode 3, I have to back all the way out to the home screen again, I will see Episode 3 under “Continue Watching” and I can start it from there. Rinse and repeat.
This “automatic playlist” behavior is not working on Android. I don’t know why, but it’s very annoying and inconvenient. I hope this can be fixed so the behavior is consistent with the Windows client.
