Android players missing quality options?

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4523
Player Version#: 8.18.0.25332

Some time ago, in all my android devices, player had many quality options, when connected to to local lan or in remote.

Just noted, that now I have only limited list quality settings.

First I think, that I have some setting wrong on my plex server, so I installed plex server to my laptop and even connected that to another router, but issue remains still.

Also tried older versions of Android plex app, having issue still.

When using browser or plex player app in my laptop, I can get all quality settings.

Any ideas?

For Home Streaming, click on it and Uncheck “recommended quality”, then it will let you pick the resolution you want

Yes, then that one option is available, but not all like in used to be or on browser/windows app.

On windows:

I don’t remember having all those options

Friend tested with his own server and ios app:

.. And now friend tested both my servers with ios app and works fine, so android app has issue now…

Does anyone have ideas?
Please test with your setup?

@anon18523487 ?

Can you verify what app versions you are using. You should only see quality settings lower than the original. PMS does not upscale so anything higher than the source wouldn’t do anything.

This is what I get on Android app 8.17.0 playing back a 3.8 Mbps file.

Just checked a 4K 19 Mbps file and the highest available conversion for me is 12 Mbps, which is correct since that is the highest that doesn’t go over 19. The next one up is 20, which shouldn’t show.

This is my client version:

And my friend tested with iPhone on my server, on same movie and he gets (see my above post):

I confirm with someone else on the team that the iOS app does show all qualities. Android should only show those lower than the original quality. Not sure why your first image was missing some values. Can you post the XML, Investigate Media Information and Formats | Plex Support, for that movie?
