Android Plex App crashes on network transition

Server Version#: 4.152.0
Player Version#: 2025.28.0 – android plex app

Problem: changing networks while streaming causes the plex app on android to crash requiring a force stop and restart of the application. The app will continue to play any pre-cached part of the stream but will typically fail. Occasionally this wont happen but that might be due to having enough pre-cached that it doesn’t need to hit the network until after the network transition is complete. Not sure if helpful but this is only an issue with the plex app not plexamp.

This can be a regular issue for anyone moving around a location that may have a meshed network as just switching access points can trigger this issue.

Reproduction: The easiest way to reproduce this issue is to simply start a stream, and before it caches too much, switch from wifi to cellular. This also assumes the server is publicly accessible.

Minimum Mitigation Requested: End the current failed stream gracefully on a network error, and attempt to refresh data from the connected server the app was streaming from.

Ideal Fix: Attempt to restart the stream from the last playable position, once the network becomes available.

Also happens on the iOS app. Has been a consistent issue since the release of the new experience. Any progress on this front? Extremely frustrating issue.
