Android 'Skip Intro' Button Bug

Plex Client: Android Mobile 8.7.0.20853, Samsung S10+, Android 10

When attempting to press “Skip Intro” on the latest Android mobile version instead of skipping it activates the pause and seek slider controls, requiring a second press of the “Skip Intro” button to actually skip. Noted earlier here: Android Skip Intro button fix

What version of the Plex Android mobile app are you using?

When I press “Skip Intro” once it skips the introduction. It also brings up the on-screen controls, which go away after a couple of seconds.

It would be nice if the on-screen controls did not appear, but the skip intro is working with just one tap.

never works on first press, always activates the pause/seek controls instead.

Agreed. Happening on all my Android devices. Works as expected on an iPad and WebOS TV. This is a big nuisance to me on multiple devices.

No one ever replied to that complaint. Plex needs to add a bug report system with voting. I’ve never had an issue solved through this forum.

Android Samsung Galaxy Tab 5e tablet.

This is a problem that has been a problem for months. The ‘Skip Intro’ button is displayed at the bottom right of the tablet display, touching the button brings up the player controls which shifts the ‘Skip Intro’ button up about an in and a half - which effectively appears that the button is running from the user to prevent being pushed. Touching the button in the new location finally registers and the intro is skipped.

Still same issue. Let’s make sure to keep this thread alive.

This drives me nuts. Maybe the button should be move to the top so it doesn’t shift?

I’m now seeing the same as @montys.

Definitely a step back from v8.7.0, where only one tap was required to skip the intro.

I haven’t seen it change since implementing this on Android. It’s always performed the “jump”.

Same for me here. I use an Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e. It´s a major annoyance since i use it during rowing. When i lean over and push the button, i have to stay leaned over to push it twice which effectively breaks my rhytm…every…single…time.

I can confirm that pressing skip intro on Android still does not work. Instead the seek bar is activated and you have to press skip intro a second time.

The lack of development attention to this app is concerning.

This isn’t an issue on iOS :man_shrugging:

This is resolved (or it is for me at least) in the 8.15.0.23605 beta version.
It’s listed as a bug fix item on the change log

Same here, with a Pixel 3a XL.

Resolved for me on the beta just released. So much more comforting to know that someone saw us struggling with the app after so long and fixed this bug!

Fixed at last!
