Note that this does not happen on the App for the Tizen OS for Samsung TVs so i believe its an adroid App issue
I am having a issue where the plex Android TV player (Shield TV) displays posters for the live tv shows but not the background images.
The single image attached shows the anderson cooper program selected in the guide, and normally when that happens, there will be a background image on the top right hand corner of the TV guide page , but there is no image there. This only happens with TV shows from my tuner channels. This was working normally some time ago where the Plex provided posters and background images would be displayed in the android tv app, but it stopped working for some reason.
The TV shows in the guide (the ones on the free channels provided by Plex) has a poster AND a background image displayed at the top right of the guide page, as you can see from the number 5 image in the collage (of the TV guide page); In fact when you select a program in the guide it automatically starts playing in the top right hand corner (although without sound). The TV shows from the channels that come from my tuner has a poster , but no background image at the top right of the guide page, and my tuner channels do not play automatically in the top right when selected and i am trying to find out how to fix that.
Image number one in the collage shows the “What’s on Now” page in the android TV streaming app, the posters for the TV show/programs are there, when you click on the poster for more details, you get what is shown in image two in the collage.
Image three in the collage shows the browse tab in the app, when you click on one of the posters (The Office in this case) you get what you see in image 4 in the collage , no poster, no background image.
What is interesting though is that the Plex web application via the browser shows both the background image and the poster when on click on a show for more details , as you can see in image 6 in the collage.
Does anyone know why the android TV app is not displaying the images? I have already re-installed the app on my shield, cleared cache and data to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.
