Android TV "Guide" SUCKS

Give us an ACTUAL guide like the Desktop Web UI, the “Guide” on Android TV is literally just the “Whats On” posters, not an actual GUIDE. I want to be able to see the channel name aswell as name of whats on and whats coming up, the UI restricts me to seeing like 4-5 “TV Shows” not even the channel itself but the content, and i cant see whats next on the channel unless I tune the channel and scroll down like 4 times just to see like next 2 entries. Wtf are you doing plex…

EDIT: Updating Android TV app for the “Grid” and it SUCKS. Theres no vertical line to visualize the time, the color scheme is AWFUL, when you open the grid it automatically positions the grid basically to the show thats going to be on NEXT not whats currently on, the background is wasted space and the bg color makes the grid awful to look at, long titles can merge making things look completely busted, theres no timer to show you what time it is, and since theres no vertical line to show what time we are at, this is a double f u by plex team.

AWFUL

EDIT 2: Network logos wont show no matter what I try, so now I have no clue what channel it is, if a channel has no logo, gl it will be blank always.

I have to agree with everything you said, it is just terrible.

Does anyone know where the background image comes from on the Shield grid view?

The white text on it is very hard to look at.

I just recently started messing with IPTV and decided to try Plex Pass. I had the same complaints as you. The guide is terrible, the color scheme doesn’t work, and no option to change it. Additionally, I was surprised to see no previous channel button.

Decided to try Emby. I can’t say the server admin console is polished, but I care more about the client sees. The guide works much better, you can access the guide while watching your stream. There is also a previous channel button. So, while the setup was more of a pain in Emby (getting the guide data from other sources sucks, but it seems like they are planning on changing that), the features on the client make it worth the switch.

I ended up cancelling Plex Pass and went with Emby, but I really hope Plex fixes these simple problems, as I would gladly go back. It doesn’t seem like the devs on this forum are too responsive. The complaints from Roku users show me that Plex doesn’t seem to care, or were completely clueless about their user base’s wants/needs before replacing the Roku client.

Thanks for the recommendation, im gonna give Emby a try. By the way I tried emby like 2 days before, and it would always just stay loading, did you have to pay for premium before being able to use Live TV?

I signed up for premium before I even tried anything, as I didn’t expect any live tv features to work without that.
