Hi all,
I’m currently frustrated to the back teeth with the EPG/TV Guide across all devices used in my home except for Android and PMP in web client mode. What I mean is that it’s really difficult to find a channel you want as the names of the channels are not displayed on Roku, PMP for PC and Android in TV mode, Fire TV stick & Xbox One plus PS4.
To make TV a viable solution this needs to be addressed rather than adding a new feature, and it needs doing now, not later as Plex advertises it can do DVR and live TV, but the current EPG/TV Guide sucks across all devices, and as I said the lack of channel names is a real downside. Plus the guide only shows the HD channels of there’s the SD equivalent being transmitted also, so this also needs to be addressed.
So, my plea, is, which I doubt it’ll get looked at, is, could we have a better TV Guide in TV Mode across all the devices that shows the names of each channel and slow every channel like in web client and Android and iOS PMP?
They’ve already said a grid guide will be coming to other platforms. They just haven’t stated when (and are not likely to do so).
This sounds like a bug and should be reported separately, including the server version, app version (and if it’s with the “programming guide” versus “grid guide”)
@darcilicious Now how did I guess you were going to say that? Because I’m Psychic? Or just know how Plex Devs work? I’m currently trying to get an issue with live TV in web client fixed, as the issue doesn’t have in TV mode on the PC, and since they changed the Roku to this terrible layout, and the Xbox One & PS4 also use this terrible layout, and even for me being registered blind, the voice over software I use on the PC means it’s completely useless in TV mode to find the channel I want to watch, so accessible for all Plex is not in TV Mode, but web client mode, it’s great and having all the channels available and being able to hear the channel is great, but as I said a current issue with that mode tenders live TV almost useless and yet TV mode completely for me anyway, renders live TV selection completely useless… So, I’m stuck between a rock and the deep blue sea as a disabled ones user and feel that any others like myself are being discriminated against as all they’re bothered about is adding echo The cool new features that they think others will use rather than fix and polish issues…
Anyway, there ends my moan, rant whatever you wish to call it… And I do hope Plex Devs start thinking of they’re sight impaired users also soon…
