Android TV out of storage space because of Plex

Recently my Hisense Android TV started complaining that it was running out of storage space and suggested uninstall some things. While looking for apps that might not be needed I realized the Plex app was using over 4.4 GB of space. That is over half the available space. The next closest app was like 800 MB or something.

I cleared the cache for Plex which temporarily fixed the problem. Does Plex really need that much space. Can the Plex app automatically limit itself to 1GB or something?
