Server Version#: 1.21.1.3842 (last updated server version on Terramaster NAS)
Player Version#: 8.12.2.22756 (last updated player version for Android TV from google play store)
Android TV is installed at Xiaomi TV. Plex player was automatically updated to last version two days ago (8.12.2), issues arised (direct play disabled), I downgrade to 8.11 with same results and I have just update to last version with same problem. Before 8.12 all was fine.
My rest of players (android mobile) run without problem. It is only an issue that should be fixed on Plex Android TV player.
Same issue on SONY TV. After update to Player 8.12.2.22756, no direct play of H265/MKV files working (i have only this kind of videos). Server version: 1.21.2.3943
Could you test a video file that is ACC stereo or mono? Since I updated to the server version you are on (1.21.2.3943) yesterday, I am getting playback errors too. I just went thru some movies and figured out anything with ACC 5.1 audio will not play and ends with an error.
I’m on the new Chromecast with Android TV.
Play version 8.12.2.22756 have the same problem as the previous version 8.12.1.22702
I put the version back 8.11.0.22186 its work fine…so fast I don’t update Plex.
My Sony Android TV Updated Plex App to 8.12.2.22756. I see all my stuff on my synology nas and can start anything I want, but nothing happens. Just a black picture.
Any idea what I can do? I can’t watch anything .
I’m using vlc now to watch my stuff

Solved. 8.11 version works fine. IMPORTANT! Please remember to mark transfer to HDMI in options.
