Hello,

I am a bit lost. Been using plex for the last 2 months now. I had no problems at first but for the last couple of days I can not play two series that I watch - The Witcher 2019 and Boardwalk Empire.

Everytime I try to play it I get circle spinning and after that a message on Tv (connected with android box) “An error occured while attemping to play this video. Please check your connection and try again”

The problem is, I already watched few episodes of each…looks like problem happened overnight. Now I dont know if there was some update but I dont understand why it was working for a month and now its not.

Can somebody explain what could be the problem? That it was working for a while and now stoped?!

So basicaly there is no reason it stoped working and I should hope it works with update? :slight_smile:

Sorry but issue (direct play is disabled) continues on new Plex version (8.12.2).
Plex Server: 1.21.1.3842
Plex Android TV player: 8.12.2.22756

the Player 8.12.2.22756 have the same problem as the previous version 8.12.1.22702. some formatted stopped playing mainly x265 with audio aac 5.1 and ac3 5.1…

the player version 8.11.0.22186 plays all formats and whith setting have enable new video player

I don’t understand what changes the plex does to make it worse

I have the same problem here. Lots of formats stopped working, specially anything HEVC.

Also downgraded to 8.11.0.22186 and things are working again

Updated version still does not work on android tv!
What to do?

I changed my files from .mkv to .avi and its working.

Changed formats for withcer from .mkv to .avi and its now working. Why initialy stoped working is beyond me - it played .mkv files until it did not anymore :slight_smile:

Boardwalk empire started working again over night. No changes made

Still have the same issue on my Chromecast with Google TV. Basically, all HEVC files will refuse to play.
