Hello @sixones can you please test from your end?
Poster changes are not getting pushed through and do not reflect on the Android app for āOther Videosā that are made in the web browser.
The web browser updates the posters fine but the Android app will not reflect the updated posters.
This is happening on Shield as well as mobile devices.
Can someone please confirm this is a bug as Iām sure it is affecting many other users?
Other video for ATV uses background pic as it is landscape, if you update the background with the artwork it will show. I wouldnāt hold by breadth for any fixes to other video library anytime soon, the implementation is so fragmented and depends on which client youāre using.
Thanks for the workaround tip.
I have since been informed that Plex indeed knows about this bug, as it was reported more than 12mths ago to them. It is indeed shameful that they refuse to fix such a simple coding issue that is affecting countless users.
Iāve got the same issue as OP on my Android devices - posters for Other Videos are not shown properly on the Android app, but they appear just fine on the Web interface or the Windows & Mac desktop apps (horizontally using the proper folder.jpg file, as i want it).
On iOS, Other Movie/Personal Media posters are shown correctly but in portrait orientation (they should be in landscape). I use Other Movies for YouTube videos I scrape and download with yt-dlp, so I have proper posters/thumbs but the apps are inconsistent on how they display them.
.Edit - issue still exists as of Plex Android app version 10.22.0.1559, as of Sept 24, 2024.
