I’m just trying to understand the use case for this…
Are you trying to add posters showing tiny sequences of the movie (like a mini-trailer in the poster) or have an animated logo flying around the poster itself?!
I just imagined a poster wall with each poster blinking and flashing. Previously I was quite happy that this was mostly gone from the internet (remembering the flashy/blinky late '90s and early 2000s)
Edit:
oh… and there actually is a feature suggestion for animated posters…
I got inspired from a youtube video, the link is as follows:-
There actually is an app that links with Plex to show Now Playing on a screen (Maybe outside your home theatre). He also uses the Photoflector app to show animated movie posters on the wall.
I thought it would be so cool to make the poster art of the plex library animated (on mouseover), and on the movie page.
If the above mentioned features could be natively built in, that would be awesome.
Also, I noticed that the movie poster app used in the video is based on a windows system, it would be great to see an android TV app or Raspberry Pi integration that does the same.
Thanks. The “The Force Awakens” example is definitely one of the ones that’d freak me out when it’d show in my library. The poster itself is great – I like how Han and Leia are rolling their eyes
