“dts 7.1” is just a display issue. There is no such thing as dts 7.1 audio on DVDs & Blu-ray discs. dts-HD MA consists of a dts core with “-HD MA” extensions. For DVDs & Blu-ray discs, the dts core has a max of 5.1 channels. The -HD MA extensions (on Blu-ray discs) provide for lossless audio and up to 7.1 channels.
