After years of using a 2009 Mac Mini (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0ghz w/4GB RAM), I am thinking of upgrading. I have family that accesses my Mac Mini setup, so I want to give them a better experience. All of my files are 1080p or 720p and I output to 720p. What Mini PC spec recommendations would you think fits this setup? I’m looking at 128gb SSD w/ 8GB RAM, but have zero clue on the processor I should be targeting.
This applies only to H.264 video streams with a bitrate of up to 10 Mbps.
And only, if the audio stream doesn’t also require transcoding.
And only, if there are no subtitles activated which need to be “burned” into the video picture.

Found a 2012 i7 Quad Core mac mini on eBay for $150. Passmark 5147. That will certainly do for now. Old passmark? 742.
