Hope someone can help me get this great little hack working!
ATV3 firmware version 5.3 (6105)
DNS server set on the ATV = 192.168.0.100
PlexConnect installed on Mac Mini late 2012 v 10.8.4
The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on = 192.168.0.100
The device and operating system that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on = same Mac Mini as above
PMS v 0.9.7.28
The local IP address of the device that the (PMS) is installed on = same as PlexConnect
PlexConnect downloaded yesterday version PlexConnect-XML_templates
Settings.cfg:
[PlexConnect]
ip_pms = 192.168.178.10
enable_dnsserver = True
ip_webserver = 0.0.0.0
enable_plexconnect_autodetect = True
port_pms = 32400
port_webserver = 80
ip_plexconnect = 0.0.0.0
ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
loglevel = Normal
logpath = .
enable_plexgdm = True
So basically I downloaded the program yesterday and it would work on some media but not others. Everything was listed but I'd get the "trailers is unavailable" error on some files. I rebooted the mac mini and ATV today and tried again. This time every time I click on trailers I get the error. I also noticed that I could not get any apps to work or access the itunes store from the ATV. I reset the ATV DNS and restarted everything and could again access apps and itunes store. I went through the process again of changing the DNS on the ATV to the mac Mini and again no access to itunes store and no trailer app hack!
I saw some timeout messages from plexconnect to PMS. Maybe your library is too slow, maybe the optimize library option can be of service? I had the same thing with stuff from my series so I ended up recreating my series section. After the upgrade to PMS 0.9.8.4, recreation of the series section and the latest plexconnect master branch my timeouts were gone and no more trailers unavailable messages.
Could you please be a little more particular? (particular? Is it particular?)
I read "trailers not available" on just some files... then "all the time", something about no access to iTunes store...
The Log seems fine on the first glance, but without knowing for what to look it is just to big.
Please set loglevel = High, restart PlexConnect and catch just one issue in the logs - shutting down PlexConnect as soon as it fails. Then we have a chance to figure out what to do next.
