Is there any benefits of installing the 64 bit version of plex over the default 32bit Bit version on this Synology NAS.
I know I won’t get hardware acceleration as the process does not support it.
Was just wondering if it would have any benefits
General processing and software transcoding will still be faster.
The normal expansion of 64 bit code, compiled on 32 is typically a 2:3 instruction increase. 30% is 30% no matter how you slice it
A DS1813+ (Atom D2700) shows substantial improvement for the same reason. “More work done per instruction”
