I have a TV series that I am recording off-air. After an episode has recorded, the system is generating a thumbnail poster from a screen capture somewhere in the video (I’ve read all the posts about sports spoilers, so I know this process is known to everyone). However, the problem I am having is that a good percentage of the time, the screen shot taken for the thumbnail is actually from a commercial and not the program.
For example, the program Leave It To Beaver (currently on MeTV) doesn’t have episode images at TheTVDB or The MovieDB. The thumbnails I get look like this:
In that screen shot you can see that 5 of the 8 episode thumbs were taken from commercials. Is there an easy way to get the server to pick another screen shot randomly from the recorded video?
I’m guessing I’ll just write a script on the server to pick new images and see what happens.
