Wrong/random episode thumbnails for TV series using new agent

Using the new TV Agent, I just encountered a series that is pulling in all kinds of random episode thumbnails. The new agent makes us all wonder where content is actually being pulled from, so there’s no way to investigate which site might be the culprit or some way to fix it ourselves.

The series:

The episode thumbnails (where present) on TVDB are accurate. The show matched correctly for seasons, episode titles and the poster images. But look at these episode thumbnails:

Donald Duck? A random David Attenborough show? Some Discovery Channel rendering of the human body?

It’s like this for every season. If I edit each episode manually I can see the correct thumbnails from TVDB although many of them contain even more random images. Here’s what I have to choose from for that Donald Duck episode:

You’re right – that’s messed up.

I keep seeing things like this with so many shows and I have to wonder why we don’t have a way to prioritize metadata from TVDB or other sources. I’m guessing this is Plex trying to avoid paying TVDB which I’m fully on board with. It’s worth the growing pains.
