Any help appreciated - DVR recording live TV only partial recordings usually under 5 mins

Plex user for many years and have run into a problem seemingly out of the blue. Windows machine for server, Hauppauge dual tuner, 90+ percent signal for channel recorded and just cant seem to get it done. Hasn’t been a problem in the past, started about a month ago. Deleted and re-installed DVR and channel rescans with updated guide same results. Scratching my head here.

I am also a dual tuner Hauppauge user and started having the exact same issue with my recordings around the same time. I’m also on Windows. I can watch Live TV fine. Recordings only last between 30 seconds and 5 minutes. Currently my DVR is pretty much useless since I’m not able to record anything.

Maybe I’ll try reverting to a server version from a couple months ago to see if that fixes the issue. Is reverting to an old version even possible?

My Plex DVR has been running flawlessly for years. This is the first time I’ve had any issues with it.

Been having this same issue for about the last week or so

I use PLEX on Windows and have been getting about 70 to 80% recording for under 5 minutes over the last month or so.

Has anyone else figured out the problems?

Found a post that if your PLEX server goes back to Version 1.40.5.8921 it will work again. I have tested and all is good, but definitely want the problem fixed.

I’ve tried rolling back on Docker to 1.40.5.8921 and 1.40.5.8854, still having the issue with DVR not working. Try to record something, goes for 5-10 seconds, then quits.

Not sure the problem. The change to the older version has been working for me.

Disable HDR tone mapping and hardware acceleration to see if it can complete a recording. They also added experimental settings to the tuner device that need to be turned off.

Debug logs or a bit more detail would help.

To Fix the DVR recording problem on Windows 11 Pro on PLEX:

Uncheck “Use hardware-accelerated video encoding” like this and seems to be recording correctly non latest version with that unchecked. Hopefully a PLEX employee will find to log the problem.
