I am using Plex to record, and it shows 2 green lights for the WinTV dualHD. I had it set to record 3 TV shows on CBS at 7 pm, 8 pm, 9 pm. I only got the 9 o’clock recording. There are times I have 2 recordings to record at the same time period, such as 7 pm. It will only just record one of the shows. It always worked before it just started having this problem.

I have the server on Windows 11 Pro and the only version that will continually record correctly is the Version 1.40.5.8921. I use HDHomeruns (Extend, Quattro, Flex 4K).

Is there a way to get version 1.40.5.8921 from plex? The only other download I have is version PlexMediaServer-1.31.1.6716.

Please see if this is relevant to your setup.

Here is where I believe I got mine

I am not sure, where would I look to to find out?

I show and describe the location of the setting in the post I linked. It’s in your Live TV & DVR settings (Settings → Live TV & DVR). Select the gear icon next to your guide listings at the top-left.

I found it and I believe it has always been on. I have turned it off to see what happens

Cool, please let us know how it works out. I only have experience with it in an HDHomeRun environment. I’m not sure if the same holds true with Hauppauge devices.

I tried to record 3 programs on CBS and one on NBC. It did not record anything. It would give me an error that either the Antenna was set wrong or the problem was the tuner. I had another TV turned on and checked both stations and both channels were coming in just fine. I opened settings to make sure that the recording was set to record the correct channel. I can get TV stations that have the same network, but can sometimes have reception problems. I have a WinTV-dualHD tuner and also have a WinTV HVR-950 BDA Tuner that I have hooked up so I would have 3 tuners. That had worked awhile back, but now it makes no difference. Now I have not tried to just use the WinTV HVR-950 BDA Tuner . Should I be able to use the 950 tuner?

I was able to download the 1.40.5.8921 version from plex. I am not sure how to install the older version over a new version. I think I had tried to do this with a different program it did not want to let me do it. Is there a procedure to do this?

Just install it over the newer version.

Is easy and simple

FYI, I have been having similar issues. I have Plex installed on Synology NAS. I was on the previous version of Plex (Currently on Version 1.41.4.9463) I another application that records (SageTV) programs with no issues, but Plex would record part of the episode or the episode would have issues with the recording and would fail on playback. The recordings done with SageTV have no issues. I do not have the “Convert vide while recording” selected. I just updated and do some recordings over the next week and see if the issue remains.

I installed version 1.40.5.8921 yesterday. I set Plex to record 4 programs one after the other and all 4 recorded fine. However, I set Plex up to record 2 programs that evening and it did not record either one. I removed the WinTV HVR-950 BDA Tuner yesterday and just used the WinTV-dualHD tuner. I am not sure if I should use both tuners. I had the 950 tuner for the WinTV8 programs. I asked Hauppauge if I could use both tuners, however, I have not received a reply. I just do not understand why I am having this problem. I was using both tuners with Plex and was getting recordings ok for quite a while. Now I am lucky to get a recording.

My first program is not recording and it says to check tuner or antenna. I am already watching the show on another TV, not using this tuner or computer. The show is coming in just fine. I went ti Live TV and DVR and it shows 2 green lights, the tuner is ready. It is like it never got the signal from Plex to turn the tuner on and record. The second program recording did not start. I looked at the tuner and it had 2 green lights. I went to DVR Schedule and went to that recording and modified the recording. That made it start to record but it just stopped. I opened WinTV and went to that channel and it came in just fine, Something is not working with Plex, must not be letting the tuner record.

The third program was set to record in Plex and I also had WinTV app record the same program and put it in the same folder that Plex would. Plex would not record, but WinTV did and I can watch it. I am still not sure why Plex will not record and WinTV would record. The signal was good and it did record with WinTV. What settings could I have set wrong that is not letting Plex record the programs I have it set to?

I had installed version 1.40.5.8921 and just looked and found Plex had installed the latest update. Where do I find where to tell Plex not to do an update? I am not sure if this is what caused the latest problem or not. I am set to record 4 programs tonight. Not sure if the last problem was with the newer version or the older one you suggested.

At the bottom there is a placer on server version updates
