As the title suggests Im wondering if the dev team has any plans on making a Plex app for Ubuntu touch.

The current web app doesn’t work. I tried creating a simple web app on my own and while I can access the site/server, it’s SO NOT responsive and very difficult to see/use. So, an actual APP would be nice. Unfortunately, it’s beyond my capabilities at present. That said, the web app I created DOES allow you to play your content on uTouch but the UI is terrible…
So, I just finished making the web app again. I published it on the Ubuntu Marketplace so you can download it and install. It’s UGLY but it works. Once you get it running, it’ll take you to the default page (https://plex.tv). From there, just sign in to your account and navigate to your account, press “LAUNCH” and it’ll take you to your server. This is where it gets really ugly because Plex isn’t mobile friendly. You’ll have to fumble your way through your content but at least it’ll play!

I’d love a proper app for Ubuntu Touch devices.

I’ve made an Html5 app “Plex Local”.
For now you can connect to your plex server in your local network (I use VPN to access my local network, when I’m not at home), and browse and stream music and video files.
You have to enable access without authentication from local network, in your plex server network settings.
Give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

Meanwhile it also supports login with plex.tv-login, so you don’t need to have a VPN connection active.
