Not pushing… as I know you guys are working it… and volunteers… but any update on the 1.7 push?
It should be ready any day now, discovered some more issues that needed attention, one being music not advancing to the next track on the playlist due to the Streaming Brain so pushed the release a few more days until it is ready.
NICE…

It’s amazing what a bit of simple regression testing can do.
ANY TESTING…
I ran a software IV&V / Quality Assurace section for a USAF software development unit…
its not sexy… everyone just want to code… because QA is hard, its detailed, it requires planning and methodology… and nobody likes to be the guy that has to walk into the meeting and tell them 10k lines of code need to be rewritten because it doesnt work or it doesnt meet spec because it uses 5kb more memory than allocated … or is not in line with DoD mil-spec directives…
today people put some code together … thow it out the door… then duck to see how much blowback comes in… patch it… throw it out… rinse / repeat…
This thread explains why when I was demoing Plex to a family member recently the iPad wasn’t able to control music playback on OpenPHT.
Ended up streaming to a BT Receiver connected to the amp and ignored the PC entirely - but the catch is the iPad battery dies quickly doing that.
I thought it was an issue of them connecting to a shared library (I added them as a friend on my server) but as it fails on my network with my devices clearly its not what I originally thought.
As for people commenting about the Plex Pass and PMP I will agree that PMP is not as good as OpenPHT. I have tried both and always go back to OpenPHT as it works better (also 2 rows of posters on a TV screen is crap - can see heaps more with OpenPHT). I only keep Plex Pass for things like premium music libraries (I have about 150GB of MP3’s on my server and the free library wasn’t detecting a fair bit of it properly) and now for sharing libraries to others.
