Any solution to the itunes playlist import error "Something went wrong. Make sure the server is available and try again."?

Server Version#: Version 4.69.1
Player Version#:

Searching the forums I see several posts about this error, but no solutions.

Trying to use plex for remote music listening. My music is in apple music on an imac.
Got the music scanned into plex, can play tracks.
Trying to get my itunes playlists in.
Deleted all my smart playlists to see if that was the problem - no difference.
Export itunes library as xml and put it into the top of my music directory tree.
Plugins → enable itunes plugin.
Put in the path to the xml file.
Click the 3 dots next to playlists (that I got to appear after 1st creating a playlist).
It reads the xml file but errors out. It seems to create a few of my many playlists. Not sure why those ones.
In the log file I see lots of “Could not find path” errors. Although spot checking shows that they do exist.
Perhaps plex is not parsing the entries in the .xml file properly (maybe not account for spaces in path names etc)?
Here is a snapshot of the console:

Hmm, inspite of those errors, I seem to have all of my (non-smart) playlists in plex.
In fact I have each of them multiple times. Probably once for each time I tried to import playlists and thought it had failed.
I guess I should wait a while, then import playlists, overwriting current playlists, to try to get down to one copy of each playlist…

The other thing throwing me off was I had to use a remote app to see all the playlists (plexamp) - when I use the browser on my imac to visit Plex it only shows a few playlists…

So waited until plex was seemingly idle (nothing happening in the console etc,
Went to playlist, 3 dot menu, import itunes playlists,
selected overwrite playlists.
And now I have yet another copy of my playlists (after getting the usual error that import failed).
How can I delete all my playlists so I can get one good set of playlists into plex?
Searching the web I find things like python scripts to do that but haven’t gotten them working yet. No other way!?
Thanks.
