Any way to force match albums in Plex music?

Hi everyone

I’m organizing my music collection using Plex Music (premium subscription). While Plex correctly identified most of my albums, some more rare releases are not being matched, even when doing a manual search. So I’m wondering if there is a way to force Plex to match an album, using an online identifier (musicbrainz, discogs, etc)?

This would be most helpful if there is a way. Thanks in advance.

You can use the Musicbrainz Release MBID in the Album field of the Fix Match form:

Make sure you have the correct MBID. You want the Release, not the Release Group or Artist. I don’t know how familiar you are with Musicbrainz, so let me know if you don’t know what I mean.

That is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks so much, problem solved.

If you happen to be trying to match an artist, you can use the artist MBID too.

Great will look into it. So I used your method to tag some of my unmatched albums but some of them are not in the Picard database. Are there other music services I can use to force tag?

Thanks

If you find them in another database such as discogs, Musicbrainz has some user scripts to easily import those to their database.
I’ve been doing so for the past 6 months for most of my rare releases.

EDIT: a list of external resources for MB

Great thanks. Which script are you using?

From that list, murdos discogs import
It adds a button to discogs, pretty straightforward

Awesome thanks so much.
