Any way to stop auto updae prompt?

Is it possible to stop the auto update prompt on the windows desktop and HTPC apps?

I have stopped updates for my google tv devices in the app store and want to do the same so I can stick with server and player versions that work well for me.

I am fed up with things constantly being broken in the relentless updates. Thanks.
