Anybody correctly sync FLAC files (track length) to iOS or Android device?

My music library is mostly FLAC (rips from my CDs using EAC). That’s why went with Plex instead of iTunes. Problem I have is syncing those FLAC to iOS devices (iPad Mini4 and iPhone6s). Server is running on Windows 10 Home x64.

Files do sync … but track length of sync copy is wrong (too short) … it plays fine though, once playback gets to indicated wrong track length, its keep playing on till correct end.

This is same problem I posted in Windows Server forum (logs attached there):

just wanted to know if is it global issue (bug) or just isolated to few user (then probably set up or installation problem).

If it works fine for you, can you post on what OS you running server and to which device you successfully sync FLAC.

Using PMS 1.1.4.2757 on Windows 10 x64 Pro. Syncing to Nexus 5x Android 7.1.1 using Plex app 5.3.2.632. No problems with track lengths.

Using 1.3.3.3148 on Windows 10 Home x64. Will try sync on Samsung Android tonight to see if my problem is specific to iOS.

Just tried on Samsung Galaxy SM-N900 running Android 5.0. Sync FLAC to it (just one song). Same problem as iOS, track length is wrong. Sync copy plays to the end (status bar behave differently to iOS … seconds tick around 3 times slower than normal). Log file generates same problem as syncing to iOS … some FFMPEG warnings and errors (see link in my initial post to get log files).

Anybody else running PMS 1.3.3.3148 and can correctly sync FLAC files to Android or iOS.

Out of curiosity … why run so old PMS version (1.1.4.2757)?

PS. Sync WAV file gets correct track length (but super slow … discussion for next post after clear this one)

To test … installed PMS 1.3.3.3148 on OSX 10.12.1 (MacBook Air)

Sync FLAC to iPad … no problem … correct track length
Sync FLAC to Galaxy … no problem … correct track length

Must be something with Windows Server … or its installation

… will try reinstalling Windows Server

Some update … repaired installation of PMS 1.3.3.3148 … problem did not go away

Uninstalled PMS 1.3.3.3148 (as directed by one of Plex guides) … installed again … problem persist

Installed PMS 1.3.3.3148 on another Window 10 Home … problem on that machine too

Seems related only to Windows 10 Home (possibly other editions too). Running Bitdefender Total Security 2017 on all machines (including MacBook Air) … turn that off … problem still there

Running out of ideas … can anybody with Windows 10 (any edition) and PMS 1.3.3.3148 confirm if syncing FLAC files works with Android or iOS (particular indicated track length of sync file)

Any input from Plex team will be appreciated.

I have the same issues. FLAC to Local Sync and when I play them in my car via Bluetooth the track lengths are all too short. Windows 10 Server build to Android Plex App.

I’m able to reproduce the issue. I will go ahead and file the bug. Thanks for the report.

Thx @MovieFan.Plex

Hope this get fixed soon
