Hi I upgraded a day or so ago and have noticed that the plex application on the PS4 is not displaying anything, The plex log will appear for a while then it displays the plex screen with the version in the bottom left, then just a blank screen, nothing no little loading logo in the top left.
I have left this for a few minutes and still no joy. I know there isn’t an issue with the server as the Android, iOS Samsung Samart TV apps all connect and display content.
HI @Namshub; that sounds like an app bug. Let’s try to figure out what’s happening from the Plex Media Server log files.
Will you please:
- Fully exit the PS4 app
- Stop your Plex Media Server
- Delete your existing “Plex Media Server.log” files
- Restart the Plex Media Server
- Wait a moment
- Restart the PS4 app
- Attach the “Plex Media Server.log” to this thread?
Thanks!
Hi, after stopping and starting the service and removing the log files the application appears now to work.
I had rebooted the server after the upgrade. and had tried it on two separate days, and multiple attempts of reboots of the PS4. I had also restarted my wireless router as well.
I will keep an eye on the issue and if it occurs again, take a copy of the log file asap, remove them and see if it resolves the issue. I will then post the log file here.
Thanks
I may be having a related problem, although the steps above didn’t solve my issue. Suddenly today on my PS4 I can’t log into any of my plex server user accounts. Plex launches, and the user log in options show up. Clicking on any of them just causes the name to flash red and it won’t let me log in. I haven’t changed any configuration on the user accounts recently, and I can log in to them fine on Android, PC, IOS. But on PS4 I’m locked out for some reason in the last day or so. Attaching my plex media server log to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve started and stopped the plex server, rebooted the PS4 multiple times, and even tried adding new user accounts as a test, but none of them let me log in.
Problem solved. Read on a related post here that uninstalling and re-installing the Plex app worked, and that did the trick. Still don’t know what caused it but at least I’m up and running again.
