I’m talking being served SD quality in a 120 Mbps connection. I usually stream ~8-10 Mbps 1080p without any issues. I even did 9 Mbps yesterday on wireless.
Is this just me?
I had the problem with trailers lately, whilst I could watch some in HD quality, another one stopped playing straight away and I got a message on screen which told my that I should switch video quality, as my network is possibly not fast enough, although I’m on 100Mb/s. Replaying it didn’t help and I had to manually decrease the quality setting to 720p to make it play.
Wireless seems a bit slow for me when it comes to stream bigger files, what are you exactly streaming? How big are your files? Do you have the possibility to test with a direct connection?
Yeah - if I set it manually, quality is fine. The Auto quality tends to be bad for some reason, even though the system plex is on isn’t breaking a sweat and network isnt congested.
Turned the feature off until it’s improved.
Happy to know the issue is not with just me. I streamed a 10 Mbps file today without any issues from wifi again, yes I can test with cable but the results are always pretty much the same. Even considering dropping the cable haha
