Anyone having problems playing all videos on LG TV webOS 05.30.01 with Plex 3.13.14 app after server update(version 1.12.2.4929)?
Yes, nothing plays on my 2016 LG TV.
I’m having the same issue with my
- 2017 LG LG webOS v05.30.01 with Plex app (wired Gigabit network on Cat6a)
- 2017 Vizio P65 with Plex app (wired Gigabit network on Cat6a)
- Roku Ultra with Plex app (wired Gigabit network on Cat6a)
- Google Pixel XL with Android Plex app (802.11ac wifi)
- Google Pixel XL with Android VLC app (802.11ac wifi)
- Samsung Galaxy 9+ with Android Plex app (802.11ac wifi)
after the Plex update, NOTHING will play, mp4/mkv h264/h265 mp3/flac — all of which worked fine earlier today.
I uninstalled the garbage release and installed the prior version however the problem persists.

UPDATE 2018.04.10 Installing PMS Version 1.12.2.4929 a second time has allowed the Vizio P65 to stream video
PlayStation with Plex app is working on different 2017 LG 4k after the second reinstall of the rollback to PMS Version 1.12.2.4929
However, the other devices and LG 4k TV cannot stream video, audio or photos
Installed update and nothing is streaming on my LG TV either.

Plex server version: 1.12.2.4929
Plex Client: 3.13

Yeah my lg tv is not playing will load all the media files fine but when coming to playing nothing going to … and then stop and say’s it’s timed out

I am experiencing the exact same issue. I did the upgrade in the server and afterwards LG forced me to accept a notification in the plex app saying that data would need to be shared outside of the UK with third parties. The alternative plex app still works on the LG store. It is definitely not the server, need an updated app from Plex on the LG store to correct this problem.
Plex app on LG remains broken however using the DLNA app LG provides with webOS I can access and play PMS content.
The built-in app supports DLNA v3.0 or v4.0 specifications with native HEVC/4K/HDR and actually allows you to adjust settings in the smart TV – Plex is horrible in this regard.
It would be a pleasant surprise if Plex would QA releases before vomiting forth buggy code and making customers deal with it.
I know that’s a ridiculous expectation and I’d settle for a fast corrective release.
How is this answered? Do we have to reinstall previous versions to get it to work again? IMHO, that’s not a solution for a paid app.

We have 4 LG TVs and all now not working with plex. Lg app is version 3.13.14. Sounds like it is Plex upgrade not LG? Can we uninstall and go back to older version, how do I do that?
Knock, knock, knock… just checking to see if anyone at Plex is listening? I understand these problems are bound to happen, but a solution/workaround would be greatly appreciated.
It would certainly be helpful to get a response from Plex about this. It’s not just the newer Plex app on LG TVs, I’m only 2.1.0 and it doesn’t work. It’s clearly a server issue
well i’m not sure but plex is no longer working it’s now saying plex is not reacbale and then say’s unavailable
but can't take his word on it at this time as that what he got told by someone internal

same problem. I am not computer savvy. I have just got plex on my LG smart tv browser, launched it on the browser and marked it as a favourite. This apparently puts an icon onto the LG app “bar”. It is different from the app, it is the same as my server, but it plays videos. Incidentally my opinion of Plex customer support is unprintable, it just relies on you guys to sort out the problems, unpaid of course.
I have been using the official LG Plex app on my LG OLED65E7P since 2017…
I can browse my server contents but upon initiating playback I am greeted by a frozen black screen with the ellipsis (three yellow dots). Nothing ever plays now, even content I have previously watched without issue.
Would really like a fix for the official LG app please? It doesn’t appear to have received and update since its release.
