Anyone having trouble with the Plex Add-on for KODI on the Shield?

Hi, some time ago I started experiencing issues with playing various videos such that, once the issue occurs, the only way to fix it was to restart the Shield (hence this pushed me into replacing the SSHD with an SSD to speed the reboot times). At first I was blaming it on the Shield Experience 6.3 upgrade and I even re-imaged back to 6.2 but the problem persisted. Eventually I have tracked it down to the Plex Add-on for KODI V 0.1.3. I removed it a couple of weeks ago and haven’t had an issue, but tonight I re-installed the add-on, opened a video, backed out, opened it again and selected resume, and WHAM - lock up. It seems to happen more often with the .TS files that Plex records via its DVR feature, but it is not isolated to them. It’s a shame because I much prefer the in-play navigation controls in the add-on to the ones in the Plex client.

Anyone else noticed this issue?

Have you tried any the of the beta releases?
Look in the Plex for Kodi section… the very latest fix is in
a thread about “playback failed.”
On mobile so difficult to link.
You will need to install the zip via Usb or similar.

No I haven’t @HitsVille, but thanks for pointing me at it. I have now reinstalled KODI and the Plex Addon V0.1.4a3. Initial testing seems positive, but will report back in a day or so. Thank you. Blueskies, Paul

Yeah it’s a decent UI.
Still missing some features like collections and Plex Companion. But hey ho!
Can’t have everything.

OK, I gave PfK 0.1.4a3 a thrashing last night from two KODI instances, one on nVidia Shield TV (where PMS is running) and the other on a cheap MBOX android media player, and had no lock ups, so it seems the issue I have been experiencing is fixed. Thanks to @HitsVille for pointing me in the right direction and @ruuk for posting the test version of PfK. Blueskies, Paul

No problem at all.
