Plex addon playback failed Nvidia shield Kodi

The default Plex app for my Nvidia shield works but I am having issues with lip syncing and wanted to use the Plex addon app for Kodi. I am running the latest version of all software for all applications.

After I install the Plex addon within Kodi it finds my server and connects. It shows all of my content but whenever I try to play anything it says “playback failed”. Nothing works.

However I installed the Plex connect addon and that works great, I just hate the user interface which is why I’m trying to get the official Plex addon for Kodi to work.

I’d appreciate any help I could get I’ve been trying for weeks with no success.

Still having issue. Tried multiple suggestions from various other posts with no luck.

Plexconnect works fine but it seems strange that the official Plex addon doesn’t work at all.

Happened to be browsing the forums and came across this thread: Nvidia Shield TV pro 2019 - very slow Plex app since 8.2.1 firmware

Disabling opportunistic lock on my synology solved this issue for me. Videos play almost instantly via the native Plex app for shield (used to take around 20-30 seconds to load any file) and now all media finally plays within the Plex addon app for Kodi.
